Frequently Asked Questions

Producing the artwork

1. Do I get to see a proof of the stationery before it is printed?

Yes, all the artwork will be emailed or sent to you. Because the image is scanned we can make changes to the artwork i.e. move some pot plants around, change a window etc. Once you are happy with everything we can then start printing.

2. I want an illustration but not really one of my house.

Often we have requests from clients to just draw a part of their house such as their front door or porch and these can make excellent, strong images. You could pick out and use a distinctive feature of your house and garden such as a tree or even a garden shed. We could even design a logo or motif. We would normally charge the same as we would for a house image. Click here to see some examples.

3. Do you retain the image?

We keep all artwork so that it is a simple process to order additional stationery in the future.

4. Can I keep the original image?

Because we need to produce your artwork quickly, we do need to edit and make changes. Often this can even include use of a scalpel and sellotape! You won't see any of this on your completed stationery but the original as such is not really something you want on your wall. For a small fee (approx £20) we can print a high quality digital copy at almost any size. Clients have often taken up this offer and framed the illustration. They really do look that good.

In normal circumstances we charge a one-off payment of £95 for creating the artwork, where clients order and re-order house stationery through us. If, however, you would like me to supply the full artwork on disk and give you a licence to use the copyright yourself and get your printing done elsewhere the cost is £200.

5. How long does it take to receive my stationery?

In most cases, clients receive their printed stationery within two to three weeks of first contacting us (sometimes even quicker than this).

Change of Address Cards

6. My phone company cannot confirm my telephone number until the day or the day before we move. Does this lead to a large delay in my cards being delivered?

We will do as much work as possible prior to the confirmation of your phone number i.e. all the artwork and layout details can be completed and agreed. Once we know your telephone number we can arrange for your cards to be immediately printed and you should receive them within 2-3 days.

Photographs

7. I have some photos/sales particulars, which I am sending through the post. Can you return these once you have printed my stationery?

Yes, that is no problem.

8. I have a photo but the angle and the quality is not very good and you may have difficulty using it as a source.

Having produced so many images over the years we usually can successfully interpret poor or unclear photos. If we are not sure we may produce you a sketched rough layout of the proposed design so that any tricky bits can be resolved at the start of the process. We can also edit the completed artwork if things are not quite right.

Payment

9. How do I pay?

I'll send an invoice with the printed stationery. You can pay either with a cheque or by electronic transfer.
