A brief potted history of The Pen & Ink Company...

Hugo's first 'professional' commission came when he was eight and his father's secretary ordered a pen and ink drawing of her new house complete with owl perched on the roof. He continued illustrating (and drawing people's houses) for the next 20 years but it was not until 2003 that he set up the Pen & Ink Company in Brighton with Thea. Since then, and with the help of Steve and Kelly, the company has steadily grown but remains a small creative business which offers its clients an unusual but very personal service.

The Pen & Ink company has been featured in a number of magazines in the last few years including House & Garden, Country Living, BBC Homes & Antiques, Period Living, Period Ideas and The Field. In addition to all our wonderful private clients in the UK and overseas we have also produced designs for organisations and businesses such as The London Library, The Dragon School, Macallan Distilleries and COOK.
